Of African and Cherokee origin, born in Linden, TX, he met Blind Lemon Jefferson there, who introduced him to the blues.

It is still debated whether he or Eddie Durham were the first artists to use an electric guitar in the 1930’s.

He was the first to play guitar behind his back or with his teeth. Jimi Hendrix followed in his footsteps for a few years. T-Bone Walker was also a huge source of inspiration for Chuck Berry.

T-Bone Walker continued to record and tour until his death in Los Angeles at the age of 64.
