(February 12, 1923 – May 26, 1958)
Foster was born in Algoma, Pontotoc County, Mississippi.
Blues singer, guitarist and sometimes drummer, he accompanied Jimmy Rogers, Sunnyland Slim, Little Water, Snooky Pryor among others.
He was important in the early Chicago Blues sound, particularly with Muddy Waters’ first band.
Foster died of a heart attack at 35 in Chicago, presumably due to his alcohol abuse.
